Synopsis
Although a decade has passed, Carol can`t help but feel a tad insecure when she comes face to face with Troy, the star quarterback who dumped her and grew up to have a ?perfect? life. Meanwhile, Ed doesn`t act very grown-up after recalling how Troy and his bully buddies once forced him to eat dog food. So he cooks up a culinary prank on his old foe, then turns his mirthful revenge on a refrigerator salesman who gave him the cold shoulder. Later, Ed offers advice to kindred spirit Warren (Justin Long), whose nerd vs. jock conflict mirrors his own. Jessica: Robin Paul. [TV Guide]

Overview
Carol`s old high school boyfriend and former BMOC, Troy McCallum, looks her up while visiting Stuckeyville for the holidays. When she hears the details of his seemingly contented life, she begins doubting her own choices. Ed also has memories of Troy: Troy forced him to eat dog food during their high school days, and he`s cooking up a revenge "pat?". After wasting an entire day at his new home waiting for the appliance store to deliver his refrigerator, Ed exacts revenge by concocting a "Survivor"-like contest, and ends up defending himself in court over it. Warren finally gives up hope on achieving Carol`s heart, and aims instead for someone his own age: the most popular girl in class, Jessica Martell. As pursuing Jessica leads him into her network of jock friends, he realizes he needs a "miracle" to attract her attention. As Ed feels sympatico with Warren`s condition, he is all to willing to oblige: Ed fakes a near death experience in the local diner, and it`s Warren to to the rescue. But will this heroic act upset the nerd-jock hierarchy at Stuckeyville High?

Songs

Trivia
Who's Godfrey?
Over drinks, Troy tells a story about a game of midnight Marco Polo back in high school - "Godfrey comes out, butt-naked, and yells `For the love of God, I need Spam!`"

Ten Bucks
Mike bets Ed that he can`t eat some of the dog food "pat?" that he has prepared for Troy. Before Mike can finish, Ed gulps down a cracker loaded with the stuff. [Tom Cavanagh is no stranger to eating dog food, as seen in his guest role on Providence as "Dog Boy".] (Ed up $40)

Legal Update
Despite having to write a 100-word apology letter to all contestants in the appliance "contest", Tucker`s Appliance loses its claim for $4600 against Ed. Ed`s record in court is now 3-2 with one settlement.

Miscellaneous
The poem that Warren is able to memorize for Carol, despite it being in "lowercase and stuff", is "i carry your heart" by e. e. cummings.

Fine Food and Drink
Ed himself eats and then feeds to Troy dog food on a cracker. Troy declares that beer always tastes better in Stuckeyville!

Nicknames
Warren says, though "in limited release", his friends call him "Ches". He later dubs Stuckeyville High quarterback Tim Cooper "The Rifleman".
