Synopsis
When Carol (Julie Bowen) convinces Ed (Tom Cavanagh) that their wedding plans need to be more spectacular, they decide to have a circus-themed wedding. As Ed`s parents arrive, he and Carol go their respective ways for their bachelor & bachelorette parties, while earnest student Warren (Justin Long) decides to make an ambitious video for the ceremony -- "The Ed Stevens and Carol Vessey Story." Meanwhile, Phil (Michael Ian Black) tries desperately to convince Ed to let him perform the wedding ceremony.

Songs
"Moment in the Sun" - Clem Snide
The controversial second season theme song was used during Warren`s video: "The Ed Stevens & Carol Vessey Story"

"My Little Corner of the World" - Yo La Tengo
Musical montage during wedding reception at the end of the episode.

Trivia
Stubbs Schemes
Phil, down to his last $12, spends one of them to purchase a ticket in the upcoming Mega Winnings lottery drawing. Even though, as Eli points out to him, this one dollar represents more than 8% of his entire net worth. When the merchant refuses to take back his original ticket and sell him one with the "correct" numbers, Eli buys the first ticket from him. Neither win.

Nicknames
Ass Monkey-what Mike calls people who do exceedingly foolish things (such as get married on Roller Coasters). {P} Stuckeypals-how Ed greets Shirley, Phil, and Eli. Many believe this was a shout-out to members of this site.

Fine Food and Drink
Lots of beer, champagne, and wedding cake.

Ten Bucks
Ed bets Mike to pretend to drunkenly drop trou during his toast. When Mike pulls his pants down from atop a table (as appalled and astonished guests look on) he reveals the words "MOZEL TOV" printed on the back on his boxer shorts.

Cast & Crew In-Jokes
Reverend Karpf, the minister who was to have performed the circus-themed wedding, was undoubtedly named for series Co-Executive Producer Merrill Karpf. Series creators Rob Burnett and Jon Beckerman made cameo appearances in the wedding scene.

  Quotes
"We want to be like the wedding equivalent of 'Cheers' and right now it's more like 'Coupling'."
- Ed Stevens (regarding his and Carol`s desire to have a special, unique wedding.)

"What's wrong with 'Coupling'? I like that show. It's provocative."
- Dr. Mike Burton (When Ed makes a `Coupling`-like wedding sound undesirable/)

"Bounce away, Sister!"
- Molly Hudson (when Carol wants to try out some of her wedding ideas on her and Nancy.)

"Ever since Fran Dresher used it in an Old Navy commercial, African-American 'izzle'-speech has been on a rapid decline."
- Shirley Pifko (explaining to Phil why the term `fo shizzle` is no longer hip.)

"I'm the Reverend Stubbs from TheExhaultedChurchoftheUniverse.com".
- Phil Stubbs (explaining to Ed his qualifications for performing marriages.)

"You were more likeable when you weighed 500 pounds."
- Warren Cheswick (when Mark disparages his comedic credentials.)

"I just want one last night with my top four ladies."
- Carol Vessey (when Nancy asks her if she`s sure she doesn`t want to go out for her Bachelorette party.)

"I barely know any of you people."
- Shirley Pifko (at Carol`s Bachelorette party.)

"Carol, there's really only one place to have this wedding."
- Ed Stevens (finally rejecting the circus theme, once and for all.)

"We're gonna have to move!"
- Nancy Burton (when she see Mike about to disrobe during his "drunken" toast.)

"Oh, Ed. You got a good woman there."
- Dr. Mike Burton (when he learns the "Mozel Tov" part of the bet was Carol`s idea.)

"I've always believed that life is divided into two parts: what is and what should be. And that, with a lot of effort, some hard work, and maybe a little luck, there are moments in your life when the two parts touch. When what is and what should be are the same. I guess I can't help but think that standing here next to Carol, next to my wife, and in front of all of you friends and family, all of us here inside this crazy, beautiful, dumpy old bowling alley which I love, I can't help but think that this is one of those times. And I thank you."
- Ed Stevens (his wedding toast and parting words.)
