Synopsis
Just as Ed (Tom Cavanagh) agrees to represent a high school football quarterback who was unfairly injured by a rival player, he is blindsided by an bright and attractive young attorney (guest star Sabrina Lloyd, "Sports Night") who tries to convince him to hire her. Elsewhere: Molly (Lesley Boone) relishes her new school promotion but her attempt to win over the students -- by appearing to be too cool for school -- only backfires; Warren (Justin Long) and Diane (Ginnifer Goodwin) conspire with Eli (Daryl "Chill" Mitchell) to cook up the quintessential gourmet meal for Mark (Michael R. Genadry) before his gastric-bypass surgery.

Overview
Ed agrees to represent Tim Ryan and his family in a dispute with a football player on the Stuckeyville Toreadors. Tim was injured and requires therapy after John slammed him into the ground by the face mask, motivated by revenge over an ex-girlfriend. Ed is accosted by a new lawyer in town, who desperately wants to work with the "spectacular Edward J. Stevens". Although Ed is not hiring, Frankie remains persistent and helps Ed win the football case. Ed decides to take Frankie on as his partner. Diane and Warren decide to throw Mark a "goodbye stomach" party on the eve of his gastric bypass surgery, although they have a difficult time locating all the exotic ingredients needed for his favorite dishes. Eli steps in and helps make the banquet a success. Molly attempts to be "Principal Cool" to connect with all the kids at SHS. The kids start to take advantage of her good nature and she is forced to get serious.
