Ed (Tom Cavanagh) must referee a nasty breakup of two veteran morning-radio deejays (guest stars Horatio Sanz and Chris Parnell of NBC`s "Saturday Night Live") who hire him to handle the legal wrangling over which one owns their routines -- but when Carol (Julie Bowen) prematurely prints a news story that exposes the split, the dyspeptic duo blames Ed. Meanwhile, Nancy (JanaMarie Hupp) and Mike (Josh Randall) consult a marriage therapist (guest star Lisa Ling of "The View") as a preemptive strike against future marital problems.
Ed, unsure of how to deal with Carol`s upcoming nuptials, closes himself off from her emotionally and throws himself into his law practice. He works with two local radio personalities who can no longer stand working with each other. While they insist word of their split cannot leak out, they happen to argue in front of Carol who prints the story in the paper. Ed enlists Phil`s help to try and lure them back together, with less than the desired result. However, a glimmer of hope remains that Ed`s parting words may cause them to reconsider.
Nancy decides she and Mike should go to a marriage counselor to pre-empt disaster in their marriage in the future. Unfortunately, Mike`s heart isn`t in it, and he finds the exercises constricting. Despite Nancy`s best efforts, the whole thing falls apart in their final session when they agree with each other that the whole thing is silly and nothing they`ve mentioned really bothers them.

Ten Bucks Mike bets Ed ten bucks to play song A55 on the jukebox at the bar. Ed does, and the jukebox blares "It`s Raining Men". Patrons all through the bar stare at Ed wonderingly, as Mike laughs.
Legal Update Ed works with local DJ`s Curtis and Desmond as they attempt to divide the intellectual property between them from their many years of working in radio together.
Stubbs Schemes When Phil learns that Curtis and Desmond are splitting up, he decides to attempt to bedazzle them with his own comedy material, hoping to be chosen by one to replace the other. Unfortunately his humor falls largely flat, both on the dueling DJs and the audience itself.
Fine Food and Drink Nancy replaces her and Mike`s typical french roast coffee with an Ethiopian blend in an attempt to shake things up a little.
