ED FLINGS CAUTION TO THE WIND WHEN HE MEETS WITH CHEATING EX-WIFE -- While Ed (Tom Cavanagh) is immersed in a complicated divorce case in representing a Brazilian woman (guest star Patricia Velasquez, "The Mummy Returns") accused of marrying an American solely to gain citizenship, he re-thinks his decision to leave his ex-wife (guest star Melissa Errico) and arranges his first meeting with her since he caught her cheating. Elsewhere, Molly (Lesley Boone) overthinks her budding romance with a bowling alley repairman (guest star Patrick Finn) and fears getting hurt; once again, Dr. Jerome (guest star Martin Chatinover) embarrasses Mike (Josh Randall) and asks him to perform a Herculean task; and Phil (Michael Ian Black) is determined to find out who leaked an answer in a guessing contest. Melanie Mayron ("thirtysomething") directs.
Carol asks Ed to help her friend Sonja, whose husband is seeking a divorce upon discovering that she once advertised herself in a mail order bride catalog. Because they live in a no-contest divorce state, Andy is free to divorce Sonja immediately, and she will be deported to her native Brazil. As Ed gets more involved in the case, he re-evaluates his own failed marriage and invites ex Liz to visit him, where they mend fences.
Mike continues to be beleaguered by Dr. Jerome, who insists Mike read all the volumes of medical knowledge he has amassed in his career before the practice is relinquished. Dr. Jerome hires a patient to walk out of Mike`s office while pretending to need an emergency appendectomy. Finally, Dr. Jerome takes Mike along to see a terminally ill patient, and Mike realizes that Dr. Jerome isn`t such a bad guy after all.
Molly and Jim continue to wend their way through the trials and tribulations of dating. After a great date, Jim cancels another for an emergency call for work. He later tries to make up to a sulking Molly, who refuses his advances, but later decides to join up with him.
After discovering that the number of gumballs has been leaked in the latest Stuckeybowl contest, Phil goes on the prowl to find the snitch. All his efforts fail, and it is finally discovered that the answer is clearly visible when the lights in the alley are dimmed.

Ten Bucks Mike bets Ed $6 to go hug a giant chicken who is advertising for a local restaurant. Ed refuses to do it for only $6 and instead turns the bet on Mike for $10. (Ed up $30)
Legal Update Ed helps client Sonja attempt to stop her husband from divorcing her. Andy is furious to discover that Sonja advertised as a mail order bride, and feels that he has been used only to secure a greencard. If he can divorce Sonja now, she will be deported. However, Sonja claims to love Andy. The judge is forced to dissolve the marriage, but grants a 6-month "stay" to allow Andy and Sonja time to work things out. Ed`s record as a lawyer is now 12-7 with one settlement and one incomplete.
Stubbs Schemes Phil searches for the snitch as Stuckeybowl`s "Guess how many gumballs are in the bowl?" contest has 22 correct entries. Despite putting pressure on Kenny and Shirley, neither will confess. In the end, it turns out the answer is clearly visible when the lights are dimmed for discobowling.
Fine Food and Drink Carol offers Ed a Velamint in exchange for helping Sonja. When Molly tells Jim that his kiss was just a kiss, he likens the comment to saying that vichysoisse is just soup. Mike`s "emergency appendectomy" patient claims Mike looks more like a butcher than a doctor.
