Synopsis
ED FEELS HARASSED; CAROL IS EMBARRASSED; PHIL IS AN ASS -- Ed (Tom Cavanagh) runs afoul of Molly (Lesley Boone) when he represents a shifty clothing store owner (guest star David Garrison) who`s being sued for sexual harassment by a former saleswoman who had to wear skimpy garments on the job -- but when Ed learns the truth, the presiding judge (guest star Charles Dumas) won`t let him back out. Meanwhile, Carol (Julie Bowen) resents the strange new principal`s (guest star John Slattery, "Sex and the City") unorthodox methods to break her out of her stale teaching habits. Also, Mike (Josh Randall) pressures an overwhelmed Nancy (Jana Marie Hupp) to have a a second baby while Phil (Michael Ian Black) embarks on a quest to retrieve a bowler`s prized ball which was lost somewhere in the pin-sweeping machinery.

Overview
Ed defends Ron Leveritt, a clothing salesman who requires his salesgirls to wear skimpy clothes and flirt with customers. Leveritt is being sued by Heather Ross, a former sales assistant and former student of Molly`s, for sexual harrassment. Molly gets involved, attempting to talk Ed out of defending Ron, but a judge makes Ed`s decision to leave the case impossible. Mike decides that he wants to have another baby with Nancy before he becomes "an old dad". Despite his advances and his attempts at alleviating her frustrations, Nancy is just not ready. Phil is on the case of a missing bowling ball, lost by one of Stuckeybowl`s loyal customers. He and Kenny unleash dogs and use metal detectors to attempt to locate the ball, but all these methods fail. Phil actually knows what happened to the ball, and is stalling for time, so he can replace it with one that is not broken. Carol and Dennis butt heads over her teaching methods, which have grown stale and become something of a joke amongst her students. Dennis shakes things up a bit, and the students respond. Carol thinks over his advice and puts some of his suggestions into play.

Trivia
Ten Bucks
Ed bets Mike ten bucks to sit on a horse ride at the playground and yell "Look at me everybody! I`m a cowboy! Yee haw!" (Ed up $30)

Legal Update
Ed defends Ron Leveritt in court over a sexual harrassment suit. Despite Ed`s feelings about the case, he manages to win the suit. Ed`s record as a lawyer is now 12-6 with four settlements and one incomplete.

Stubbs Schemes
Phil is on the hunt for a missing bowling ball. He and Kenny use metal detectors to attempt to trace the metallic paint used in the balls decorations. They also unleash a pack of dogs (bloodhounds were too expensive) to try and have them sniff out the ball. In the end, Phil shows Ed that the ball has actually broken in half, and he is stalling for time while a new "Devastator" is made for Donny.
